By the sound of things you are looking to upgrade ur security
system. Most security systems are fairly similar in general function,
however many do offer advanced features.
In my home I have an Apex system, the keypad is ugly but it has some nice
advanced features & being in the industry I got a pretty good deal. If you
are into the advanced home automation options & have a fair chunk of money to spend, HAI Omni has a really great security system with an incredible amount of flexibility. For a little more middle of the road but still keeping features & future expansion ability. I would suggest Paradox. I pretty much use their equipment exclusively. Of course I do service & monitor other brands, after all I wouldn't have a point of reference if I stuck my head in the sand with one brand. The thing is, for the price point, their EVO panels offer more flexibility than DSC & Ademco combined.
